Women's Golf Completes Fall Slate with T6 at Landfall Tradition

Freshman Vania Simont Earn Third Career Top-20
WILMINGTON, N.C. – NC State women's golf wrapped up its final tournament of the 2022 fall slate on Sunday, finishing the Landfall Tradition hosted by UNCW in a tie for sixth place with a three-round score of 871 (+7).
San Jose State won the event with a score of 842 (-22), with the Spartans' Louisa Carlbom tying Florida State's Charlotte Heath for individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 206 (-10).
The Wolfpack's weekend was highlighted by Friday's opening round that saw three NC State golfers post rounds below par, including freshman Vania Simont trying her career-low round with a score of 68 (-4).
Friday's round additionally saw both Natalie Armbruester and Jaclyn Kenzel post scores of 71 (-1).
Simont finished the week in a tie for 13th place, her third top-20 finish of the season in just four appearances. Simont's finish was enough to tie her best result of the season thus far at T13th.
Lauren Olivares Leon used a second-round 71 (-1) en route to being one of four competitors in the field finishing the weekend in a tie for 34th place. Armbruester ended the tournament just one shot behind Olivares Leon in a tie for 38th.
Isabel Amezcua also competed for NC State, wrapping up the fall schedule in a tie for 55th place individually and a three-day score of eight-over par.
Kenzel rounded out the NC State lineup with an 86th place finish and a three-day score of 233 (+17).
The Wolfpack finish the fall slate having earned three top-ten finishes in four events, and will next be in action February 5-6 at the Collegiate Invitational at the Country Club of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico.
