#3 Wolfpack Makes Trip to #20 Notre Dame Tuesday

RALEIGH – In the midst of a stretch in which it will play three games in five days, No. 3 NC State women's basketball (19-2, 10-0 ACC) travels to South Bend, Ind., for a top-25 matchup with No. 20 Notre Dame (16-4, 7-2 ACC) on Tuesday night.

Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Fighting Irish is set for 7 p.m. from Purcell Pavilion.

A WIN ON TUESDAY WOULD
• Be the 986th win in program history (985-476)
• Be head coach Wes Moore's 768th career win (767-236)
• Be Moore's 210th win at NC State (209-67)
• Be Moore's 100th ACC victory with the Pack (99-39)
• Mark NC State's 19th in a row overall against a conference opponent (including three 2021 ACC Tournament wins)
• Give the Pack an 11-0 ACC regular-season record for the first time in program history
• Be the Pack's sixth over a ranked opponent this season and its fourth in a row

NOTING THE WOLFPACK (19-2, 10-0 ACC)
• The Wolfpack is one victory away from its 20th win of the 2021-22 campaign. This would secure the 30th 20+ win season in program history and the eighth in nine seasons of the Wes Moore era. NC State has hit that plateau seven seasons in a row coming into this year.
• NC State is currently in sole possession of first place in the ACC standings as the only unbeaten team in the league.
• NC State is off to its best conference start in the Moore era (10-0). NC State's previous best conference start under Moore was an 8-0 mark in 2018-19, and its best regular-season mark in program history was when it finished the 1979-80 regular season 10-0 in ACC play.
• The Pack has been ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 for two weeks in a row after spending back-to-back weeks at No. 4. NC State has been ranked fifth or higher in every poll this season.
• The Pack has defeated five top-20 opponents (No. 2 Maryland, No. 6 Indiana, No. 19 UNC, No. 16 Duke, No. 3 Louisville) in 2021-22.
• The Wolfpack is nationally ranked:

SERIES HISTORY (Notre Dame leads 7-2)
• Tuesday's game marks the 10th overall between NC State and Notre Dame. Prior to last season's matchup being canceled due to COVID protocols in the Fighting Irish program, the teams had faced off at least once a year since Notre Dame joined the ACC in 2013-14.
• The Wolfpack has made three previous trips to South Bend and is 1-2 in those games.
• NC State earned its first-ever road win against Notre Dame in the last matchup between the two squads. The Wolfpack won a 34-point game over the Fighting Irish in January of 2020.
• The Wolfpack's only other win in the series was when the team upset second-ranked Notre Dame at home on Dec. 29, 2016, winning by a 70-62 score after never trailing in that outing.
• Tuesday's contest marks the sixth time that NC State and Notre Dame will meet as a pair of ranked squads. NC State is 0-5 in the previous such contests. The Wolfpack has only been the higher-ranked team in one of those games, which was also its first-ever meeting against Notre Dame (No. 8 Wolfpack vs. No. 14 Fighting Irish on Nov. 21, 1996).
• Notre Dame has been ranked in every matchup between the squads except the most recent one. In that Jan. 2020 Wolfpack win, NC State was ranked ninth and Notre Dame was unranked.

RANKED WINS UNDER MOORE
NC State has defeated a total of 29 nationally-ranked opponents (29-36) under the leadership of Moore. Since he took over ahead of the 2013-14 campaign, the Wolfpack has played 20 road games against AP Top 25 opponents. NC State is 7-13 in those games (5-7 against AP Top 10 opponents and 2-4 against AP Top 5 teams). NC State has won its last three road games against ranked opponents - at No. 6 Indiana this season and at No. 1 Louisville and No. 1 South Carolina last season.

WOLFPACK STREAKS
• 10-0 in ACC play this season (best regular-season ACC record in program history is 10-0 set in 1979-80)
