Men’s Tennis Set to Open Season with Home Doubleheader

RALEIGH - The NC State men's tennis team will begin its 2022 dual match slate Thursday, Jan. 20 as it welcomes Princeton (2 p.m.) and Campbell (6 p.m.) to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Fans are permitted to attend all home matches in the 2022 season and are required to wear masks for indoor competitions per NC State's University Community Standards.
Fans attending matches before 5 p.m. on weekdays will need to obtain a virtual parking permit here.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS
Junior Robin Catry currently sits at No. 36 in the ITA singles rankings, a career-high placement for the Lille, France, native.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton will open its 2022 dual match slate in Raleigh, its first since the 2020 season.
The Tigers' roster is experienced with five seniors, and two juniors. The squad competed in the fall, most recently charting six singles wins and two doubles wins at the Navy Fall Invitational.
SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell will also begin dual match competition with its match at NC State. The Camels competed in three fall tournaments, including the ITA Carolina Regional where Benjamin Maes reached the singles round of 32.
NEW MEMBERS OF THE PACK
NC State welcomed five freshmen to its squad for the 2021-22 season: Damien Salvestre, Braden Shick, Luca Staeheli, Fons Van Sambeek and Joe Wayand.
Each of the Pack's freshmen competed in fall 2021 action, and Van Sambeek represented NC State alongside doubles partner Martins Rocens at the ITA Fall National Championships.
UP NEXT
The Wolfpack will travel to Oxford, Miss., to participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The first match, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 28, will be against Illinois while Jan. 29's matchup will see NC State face off against Ole Miss or Oklahoma.
