Pack Wraps Up Round Two at NCAA Championships

Benjamin Shipp led NC State with a 71 on Saturday

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – The NC State men's golf team completed round two of the NCAA Championships Saturday at the Grayhawk Golf Club.
NC State is in 24th place after two rounds of play.
Benjamin Shipp led the Pack with a one-over par 71 on Saturday. The senior posted four birdies on the back nine and closed the day three-under on the final nine holes as the All-ACC selection got more comfortable with the challenging course on Saturday.
For the tournament, Shipp is in a tie for 55th place at five-over par.
Christian Salzer is tied for Shipp in 55th place. Salzer shot a 73 in the second round on Saturday.
Carter Graf, Easton Paxton and Maximilian Steinlechner are all tied for 114th place at 11-over par. Paxton shot a 72 on Saturday, closing his round with three birdies on the final seven holes. Carter Graf shot a 73 in the second round and led the team with six birdies on the day. Steinlechner finished with a 74 on Saturday.
The third round for the Pack starts Sunday at 12:15 local time (3:15 ET). After Sunday's round, the tournament field is cut from 15 teams to 30 teams for the fourth and final round of stroke play. NC State is currently only 10 shots back of the 15th place team.
