RALEIGH – No. 6 NC State women's tennis (14-4, 8-3 ACC) will play its final two matches of the regular season at home this weekend. The Pack is set to host Virginia Tech for Senior Day on Friday (1 p.m.) and will welcome No. 12 Virginia to Raleigh on Sunday (1 p.m.)
ATTENDANCE INFO:
Please stay tuned to the @PackWTennis Twitter account for information on whether the match will be played indoors or outdoors. Matches that are played outside will have attendance limited to team family and guests inside the facility, but fans may view the match from the grass hill outside the facility with masks and social distancing guidelines maintained. Matches that are indoors are closed to the public.
SENIOR CELEBRATION:
The Wolfpack will honor its three seniors - Liz Norman, Adriana Reami and Anna Rogers - prior to Friday's match against Virginia Tech. They have played important roles in some of the best seasons in NC State women's tennis history.
Norman: compiled 48 singles and 35 doubles wins in three seasons at NC State...earned the best singles ranking of her Wolfpack career in 2020 at No. 101...defeated nation's third-ranked player for the highest ranked win of her career...earning a degree in physics
Reami: owns 122 singles wins and 86 doubles wins...2018 Third Team All-ACC honoree...reached career-best No. 23 singles ranking and is currently ranked career-best No. 5 in doubles...winningest singles player in program history and second in program history in doubles wins...earning a degree in psychology
Rogers: earned 113 singles wins and 150 doubles wins...two-time ITA All-American and three-time All-ACC honoree...ranked career-best No. 5 singles ranking and also reached No. 1 doubles ranking...winningest doubles player in program and ACC history according to available records...qualified for NCAA Championships every season since 2017...earning a degree in business administration/accounting
PACK IN THE RANKINGS:
NC State reached its highest national ranking of the season as it was tabbed No. 6 in Wednesday's release of the Oracle ITA Division I Team Rankings. NC State has been featured in the national top 15 every week since Feb. 26, 2019.
The Pack has two top-10 doubles pairs - Jaeda Daniel/Adriana Reami (No. 5) and Anna Rogers/Alana Smith (No. 9) - and three ranked singles players - Rogers (No. 5), Smith (No. 29) and Reami (No. 112).
Rogers' ranking is the best singles standing of her career. It bettered the previous program-best of No. 8 that she also owned. Daniel and Reami also earned a career-high doubles ranking.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH:
The Hokies are 5-14 on the season and are still seeking their first conference victory with an 0-11 clip in ACC play. Rita Pinto and Shene Disbergen are ranked No. 65 in doubles.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA:
The No. 12 Cavaliers enter the weekend with a 12-4 overall record and an 8-3 mark in ACC matches. They will play against Wake Forest on Friday before coming to Raleigh before Sunday's match. Virginia has dropped its last two matches, both 4-3 losses at Florida State and Miami.
Virginia has three ranked singles players - No. 6 Emma Navarro, No. 35 Natasha Subhash and No. 101 Rosie Johanson - and three ranked doubles pairs.
