TEMPE, Ariz. – The NC State women's tennis team (14-4, 8-3 ACC) reached its highest national ranking of the season as it was tabbed No. 6 in Wednesday's release of the Oracle ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
The Wolfpack is no stranger to this territory, as the team has been featured in the national top 15 every week since Feb. 26, 2019. The squad has soared as high as a program-best No. 3, a mark that it achieved during 2020 dual match play.
Six of the Pack's 14 victories on the season came against ranked opponents. NC State most recently defeated then-No. 13 Duke in a top-15 ACC showdown that came down to the final court. It capped off what was then a seven-match winning streak for the Wolfpack.
The ITA also released its Coaches Poll this week with the Wolfpack ranked No. 9 nationally there, and NC State also sits at No. 8 in the USTA Top 25 Rankings.
NC State will play its final pair of regular-season matches at home as it welcomes Virginia Tech (Friday, April 9) and No. 12 Virginia (Sunday, April 11) to Raleigh. The Wolfpack will honor its seniors in a pre-match ceremony prior to Friday's contest against the Hokies.
