FORT WORTH, TEXAS - NC State gymnastics sophomore Emily Shepard competed at the NCAA Championship on Friday, posting a 9.8875 on floor exercise.
Shepard was the first Wolfpack gymnast to compete as an individual at Nationals since 2015 and qualified after recording a career-best 9.925 on floor at the NCAA Athens Regional.
Her 9.8875 on floor is the highest single-event score by an NC State individual qualifier in program history.
STRAIGHT FROM THE PACK: HEAD COACH KIM LANDRUS
"One of our postseason mottos this year was to make every moment a memory," said head coach Kim Landrus. "Emily definitely did that! She performed at such a high level tonight, and I'm so proud at how she represented the Pack. She truly savored this opportunity and had so much fun doing so!"
