Program-Record Eleven Members of Pack Named to All-ACC Indoor Track & Field Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A program-record 11 members of the NC State track & field teams have been named to the All-ACC Indoor Track & Field Academic Teams, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.Â
2021 All-ACC Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic Team
- Kelsey Chmiel, So. - Animal Science/Vet Bioscience
- Michelle Cobb, Sr. - Nutrition Science
- Sarah LaTour, Jr. - History
- Akira Rhodes, Jr. - Accounting
- Savannah Shaw, Sr. - Business
- Hannah Steelman, Sr. - Psychology
- Katelyn Tuohy, So. - Engineering
- Anna Vess, Gr. - Biological Sciences
Chmiel and Steelman each qualified for the women's 5000m race at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship, finishing in 11th place and eighth place, respectively.Â
Shaw, Tuohy and Vess each traveled to the NCAA Championship and competed in the DMR alongside Alexis Postell. The relay squad set a school record at the meet.
Cobb posted an impressive indoors season, concluding the indoors season ranked 19th in the country in the women's triple jump with a mark of 13.17m (43'2.5"). She earned First Team All-ACC status with a 3rd-place finish in the event at that meet.
LaTour garnered Second Team All-ACC honors with her sixth-place finish in the women's mile at the conference championship, where she ran a personal-best 4:46.95.
Rhodes posted the fifth-best 60m hurdles time in program history with her time of 8.24 The sophomore set the mark at the ACC Indoor Championships and earned Second Team All-ACC laurels for her fourth-place finish.
Cobb garners the indoors honors for the third time in her career, having also earned a spot on the team in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 indoor seasons. Chmiel, LaTour, Rhodes, Shaw, Steelman, Tuohy and Vess each tab the honors for the first time.Â

Brockman posted the second-quickest 60m hurdles time in program history at the ACC Championships, running a 7.81 that was good to earn him a third-place finish and First Team All-ACC honors.
Douglas competed at the 2021 NCAA Championships in the long jump, posting a Second Team All-American performance. During the season he recorded a long jump of 7.74m (25'4.75") that was good for the fourth-best jump in school history.
Murray's personal-best 7.88 in the 60m hurdles, set during the 2021 season, were good to place him in the NC State record book with a third-quickest time in Wolfpack history. He earned the mark at the ACC Championship, where he placed fifth in the event and earned Second Team All-ACC status.
All three Wolfpack men earn the laurels for the first time in their careers.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC honor roll recognizes all league student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 for the current academic year is set to be released in July.
