
Gymnastics to Travel to New Hampshire for EAGL Matchup

RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team is set for an away meet at East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) opponent New Hampshire Saturday, Mar. 6 at 4 p.m. The matchup will be the first meeting between the two teams in 2021.

NC State tabbed its highest score of the season with a 196.200 that was highlighted by a season-high 49.150 on beam and a season high-tying 49.125 on bars.
Sophomore Chloe Negrete earned the individual title on vault and tied for the individual title on floor and beam. She posted a vault mark of 9.850, a 9.850 on beam and a 9.875 on floor.Â
Fellow sophomore Emily Shepard also earned part of the individual title on beam with her career-best 9.850. Shepard took home the individual title on bars with her third 9.900 of the season on the event, and she posted a 39.375 in the all-around competition for first place. The Olathe, Kan., native's performances at the meet were good to earn the sophomore her fourth EAGL Gymnast of the Week Honors of 2021.
Senior Nicole Webb tabbed a share of the beam title as well, posting a 9.850, while Senior Katie Cox continued her strong season on bars, posting her third consecutive score of 9.875 at the meet. The mark was good for a second-place finish.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire ranks fourth in the EAGL with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 194.981. The Wildcats' highest score of the season is a 195.350 that came in a tri-meet at LIU with Towson. The team has at least one gymnast ranked individually in the top five of the EAGL on vault, beam, floor and all-around.
