Shepard Earns EAGL Gymnast of the Week Honors

STEUEBENVILLE, OHIO - Sophomore Emily Shepard has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.Â
The honors mark Shepard's fourth Gymnast of the Week laurels of 2021 and her second consecutive week earning the award.

Shepard posted an individual title-winning 39.375 all-around score at NC State's Feb. 27 tri-meet, her second-highest all-around score of the season.
The mark was highlighted by a 9.900 on bars that was good for another individual title. Shepard has had a consistent season on bars, posting a 9.900 on the event in three meets.Â
On vault, she tabbed a 9.800 that was good to tie her for third place. Shepard additionally recorded a career-best 9.850 on beam that made her part of a four-way tie for the individual title on the event and rounded out the meet with a 9.825 on floor.
The Olathe, Kan., native ranks first in National Qualifying Score (NQS) in the EAGL on vault (9.869), bars (9.894) and all-around (39.206). She additionally is tied for second in the league on floor with an NQS of 9.875 and ties for the 16th-highest bars NQS in the nation.
