Negrete, Jordan Tab EAGL Weekly Honors

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO - Sophomore Chloe Negrete and freshman Carina Jordan have each earned East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) weekly honors in the final week of the regular season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Negrete was named EAGL Specialist of the Week for the second time this season while Jordan was named EAGL Rookie of the Week for the third time in 2021 action.
Negrete posted a strong three-event outing at NC State's final regular-season meet with all three of her event scores coming in no lower than 9.850. She posted a 9.850 on vault earned a share of the beam individual title with a 9.875 on the event and won the individual title on floor with a career-best 9.950. Her floor mark ties the third-highest floor score in program history.
Jordan had a career-best night at the meet as she improved her career highs on all three events that she competed on. She began the meet with a 9.800 on vault and maintained strong scores on bars and floor. She earned a 9.875 on both bars and floor, tying for second place on bars and taking second on floor.
UP NEXT
NC State turns its attention to the postseason as it travels to Pittsburgh to compete at the EAGL Championship. The Wolfpack is the No. 1 seed in the meet and will compete in the first session against three-seed New Hampshire, five-seed North Carolina and seven-seed George Washington at 1 p.m.
