NC State Earns 2021 EAGL Regular-Season Title

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO - The NC State gymnastics team has earned the 2021 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Regular-Season title, as announced by the league office on Monday.

2021 marks only the second year in which the EAGL has recognized a regular-season champion. The Wolfpack tabbed a share of the 2020 Regular Season Championship as well, sharing the title with New Hampshire. The 2021 champion was determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS), and the team topped the league with a 196.094.
At the conclusion of the 2021 regular season, the Wolfpack not only led the league in NQS but also in average (195.675) and high (196.900). The team's high score was earned Mar. 13 in its senior day meet and tied the third-highest mark in program history. NC State posted 49.0+ scores on all four events, and its vault and bars totals check into the NC State record book as top-10 marks.Â

"This regular-season conference championship means so much because it's the culmination of months of perseverance, grit and hard work," said head coach Kim Landrus. "The pandemic has caused a great deal of adversity, and this team continues to make every day count and appreciate the small moments. For them to be crowned regular-season champs is the true definition of unity and teamwork. It took each individual coming together to make this happen and I am so proud of each and every one of them."Â
