Pack Picks Up 1-0 Road Win at VCU

RICHMOND, Va. – A late first-half goal by Tal Segev held up for the entirety of the second half as the NC State men's soccer team secured a 1-0 road victory at VCU on Wednesday evening.
With the win, NC State improves to 2-6-1 on the season while the Rams dropped their season opener.
Segev's goal was the first of his young Wolfpack career. The freshman served up a corner kick in the 41st minute that went curling into the mouth of the goal. VCU keeper Mario Sequeira deflected the ball but was unable to corral it until it had already crossed the goal line.
The Rams managed to get a few late shots off, but goalkeeper Leon Krapf and the NC State defense held strong and did not concede a goal for the second outing in a row. Krapf posted two saves on the night, as VCU barely out-shot NC State by a 7-6 tally.
NC State will step back into ACC action next week as it welcomes Louisville to Raleigh on Thursday, March 4. That game is set for a 6 p.m. start.
