KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jenna Butler and Jameese Joseph of the NC State women's soccer team garnered all-region honors from United Soccer Coaches this week. Joseph was named to the Atlantic All-Region First Team while Butler was tabbed Atlantic All-Region Third Team.
For Joseph, this is the second regional honor in her career from the organization, as she was named to the third team in 2019, while for Butler this is the first postseason award in her career.
This is the fifth consecutive fall season that NC State has had at least one player named to an all-region team.
The pair played a key part in the team's 9-9-2 and record No. 38 RPI that was highlighted by three top 25 wins, including two top five victories, and its fifth consecutive fall season reaching at least the NCAA Second Round.
Butler started all 20 matches at center back and tallied four goals on the season, all header goals off set pieces, as well as a pair of assists. She additionally played a significant role in the team's six shutout wins on the season.
Joseph, who recently garnered Second Team All-ACC honors, led the team with nine goals and 20 points, as she too started all 20 matches as an attacker in the 2021 fall season. She was responsible for the game-winning goals over No. 4 Duke and No. 3 North Carolina to help the team defeat both teams in the same season for the first time in program history.
