
No. 11 Rifle Falls to No. 2 West Virginia

RALEIGH – No. 11 NC State rifle welcomed No. 2 West Virginia to Reynolds Coliseum for a dual match on Sunday, with the Mountaineers earning the win, 4,730-4,652.
The Wolfpack (0-1) opened the season with a 2,294 in smallbore and a 2,358 in air rifle while the Mountaineers (4-0) remained perfect with a 2,348 smallbore and 2,382 air rifle score.
Ben Salas led the way for the Pack in smallbore, tallying a team best 576. Both freshmen Katie Tedeschi and Samuel Burrow scores counted for NC State in their collegiate debuts as they racked up a 573 and 570, respectively. Travis Stockton (574) and Roman Karadsheh (571) rounded out the scoring for NC State in smallbore.
In air rifle, Salas recorded a 586 for an aggregate score of 1,162 which one away from his career-best. Addy Burrow paced the Pack as she nearly tied her career high, firing a 592 that included a perfect first and final series. Stockton put together a solid outing with a 588 air rifle to total 1,162 for his aggregate. Tedeschi recorded a solid collegiate debut in air rifle as her second and third series were perfect for a 592 score for an aggregate of 1,165. Karadsheh rounded out the counters for NC State with a 584.
