
Wolfpack Readies for Friday Night Home Match Versus Virginia

RALEIGH – NC State men's soccer (6-4-2, 0-3-2 ACC) welcomes the Virginia Cavaliers (4-7-2, 1-4-0 ACC) to Raleigh on Friday evening for an ACC showdown. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 8 p.m. from Dail Soccer Stadium, and the match will be broadcast live on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks.
FREE ADMISSION
Beginning in 2021, NC State men's soccer games are free of charge. Gates will open one hour prior to the start of the match. As NC State works toward a more normal on-campus experience, NC State Athletics will continue abiding by the current policies for campus as outlined in the University Community Standards.
MATCH PROMOTIONS
Friday's match is Stranger Things Night. Fans are encouraged to wear flannels, and there will be 100 NC State soccer fanny packs given away at the gate.
A WIN FRIDAY WOULD

• Be the 199th win in head coach George Kiefer's career (198-118-67)
• Be Kiefer's 37th victory at NC State (36-32-16)

SERIES HISTORY (NC State trails 12-47-8)
• Friday marks the 62nd overall meeting between NC State and Virginia.
• With the adjusted schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NC State and Virginia did not face each other during the 2020-21 season. The teams have played each other at least once in 18 of the last 21 campaigns.
• NC State last faced off against Virginia on Sept. 20, 2019. That match, which was played in Charlottesville, ended in a 2-0 score in favor of the Cavaliers.
• The Pack's last win in the series was a 2-0 score at home on Nov. 6, 2010. Since then, NC State has tied Virginia twice (2013 and 2017).
• NC State is 11-14-6 when taking on Virginia at home.
LAST TIME OUT
• NC State earned its third-straight non-conference win of the season in 4-0 fashion over visiting High Point on Friday night. It marked the Pack's third shutout victory of the season.
• Three different players contributed goals in the win: Kuda Muskwe (2), Alex Hernandez (1) and Pablo Pedregosa (1). Muskwe's multi-goal game was the first of his career, and Pedregosa found the back of the net for the first time this season.
• The Wolfpack had four shots on target in the first half and connected on two of those to take the advantage into the break.
• In total, NC State out-shot High Point 13-5 and limited the Panthers to just one shot on target.

• The Pack's 151 shot attempts have been distributed among 17 different players, led by 25 strikes from Henrique Santos.
• Eleven different players have found the back of the net in 2021, with Luke Hille and Kuda Muskwe's four goals apiece pacing the team.
• Leon Krapf is the fifth-ranked keeper in the league in saves per game (2.75) and save percentage (.702).
• NC State has held four of its opponents scoreless this season and held another four to just a single score.

In the midst of the fifth season of the Kiefer era, the Wolfpack has posted a 29-13-8 (.660) record in games played on its home turf. Included in those wins are three home victories over ranked opponents and two over top-five foes.
MUSKWE MAGIC
NC State is 8-2-0 all time when Muskwe finds the back of the net. His two-goal, one-assist night against High Point marked the highest point production of his career and the first five-plus-point game since Manny Perez did so in October of 2017.
FRESHMAN FIREPOWER
Henrique Santos (No. 18), Noe Cabezas (No. 28) and Luke Hille (No. 47) were all ranked on the TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 Freshman list following the first two months of the season. NC State is one of 10 programs across the country with at least three players on the list.
