PACK IN THE POLLS
NC State's women took sole possession of the national No. 1 ranking on Oct.5 after spending three weeks tied for the spot with BYU in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
Regionally, the NC State women hold the top spot and have been at the spot for the entirety of the season. The Wolfpack men check into the Southeast regional rankings at sixth.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pack posted impressive showings at the Joe Piane Invitational on Oct. 1 that were highlighted by a first-place finish by the women's squad. NC State was the only team to place four scorers in the top 10, an effort led by Kelsey Chmiel's third-place finish. Chmiel completed the course in 16:14.6, and her performance was good to earn her ACC Performer of the Week honors on Oct. 5.
The men placed 10th as a team in a field of 24, 11 of which were ranked. JP Flavin secured an 11th-place individual finish in the five-mile race, running a 23:43.4. Overall, the Wolfpack men tallied 286 points.
UP NEXT
The teams will turn their attention to the postseason as they make the trip to South Bend, Ind., for the ACC Championships Friday, Oct. 29.
