
#8 Wolfpack Ready for 2021 ITA Kick-Off Weekend

NC State serves as a host site for the regional for the second season in a row
RALEIGH – Dual action continues for the eighth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (1-0) as it prepares to host the 2021 ITA Kick-Off Weekend matches on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.
The Wolfpack squad is set to compete in its fifth consecutive Kick-Off Weekend and is serving as a host for the second season in a row. NC State is the No. 1 seed for tournament action in Raleigh and welcomes 16th-ranked Wake Forest, 18th-ranked Central Florida and Northwestern to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Due to health and safety recommendations and current state guidelines, matches at the Isenhour Tennis Center are closed to the public.
MATCH INFO:
All teams at the regional will be guaranteed two matches, as the winners and losers from Sunday's competition will face off on Monday. The overall winner from the Raleigh site will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The eight-team national tournament set to be played Feb. 5-7 at the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State.

11 AM - #16 Wake Forest vs. #18 UCF
2 PM - #8 NC State vs. Northwestern
Monday, Jan. 25
11 AM - Consolation Match (losers from Sunday)
2 PM - Championship Match (winners from Sunday)
LAST TIME OUT:
The Wolfpack played its first dual match of the season on Wednesday after going over 315 days in between team contests. NC State faced off against No. 14 South Carolina on the road and picked up the dominant 6-1 victory. It was the team's third win over the Gamecocks in the last four meetings and its first time beating South Carolina on the road.
KICK-OFF REWIND:
NC State has reached the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in each of the last two seasons after coming out of its Kick-Off Weekend competition unbeaten. In 2019, the squad defeated Mississippi State and Florida at regional action in Gainesville, Fla., to earn its first-ever bid to the national tournament. In 2020, the Pack hosted regional action and once again advanced after victories over Rice and Florida.
2021 SCHEDULE:
The remainder of NC State's 2021 dual match slate will be released following the conclusion of ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
