Ogletree, Starkell Named EAGL Assistant Coaches of the Year

DURHAM, N.H. - NC State gymnastics assistant coaches Philip Ogletree and Bob Starkell have been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year, as announced by the league office on Friday. The honors marked the second consecutive year that the duo has collected the accolades.

Ogletree and Starkell are primarily in charge of vault, bars and floor. Half of NC State's vault lineup attained All-EAGL honors in the event while five members of the Wolfpack achieved First Team All-EAGL accolades on bars. Additionally, five gymnasts achieved All-EAGL laurels on floor.

The pair led the Wolfpack to top-25 Road to Nationals rankings on bars and floor. The squad finished its season at No. 23 on floor and No. 25 on bars nationally. In all-around, NC State completed the year at No. 23 nationally. NC State was the only team in the EAGL with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) above 196.000, rounding out the season with an NQS of 196.130.

NC State's final bars NQS was 49.070, the only NQS above 49.000 in the EAGL on the event. During the season, the team posted a 49.400 on floor to tie the sixth-best score on program history. The Wolfpack topped the EAGL in the final standings on bars and floor.
