Kent Named EAGL Gymnast of the Year

DURHAM, N.H. - Junior Lauren Kent has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Year, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Kent finished her junior campaign ranked in the top 25 in the league on all four events, including a tie for second place on bars and a tie for ninth place on beam. She completed the year atop the EAGL in all-around with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 39.090. The Willow Springs, N.C. native was the sole member of the Wolfpack to compete in the all-around in every meet during the 2020 season. Prior to her junior year, she had competed in the all-around just five times.Â
She earned First Team All-EAGL honors on bars and all-around as well as Second Team All-EAGL accolades on beam. She attained career-high scores on vault, beam, floor and all-around during the season and tied her career best on bars of 9.900 once.
Kent collected 17 podium finishes during the 2020 season, including four individual titles.Â
