
Shipp Finishes in Second; Pack in Seventh at General Hackler

Senior golfer now has five top-10 finishes in seven events this season

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – NC State men's golf senior Benjamin Shipp finished in a tie for second place and the Pack finished in seventh place at the General Hackler Championship held at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Shipp shot an even-par 72 in the third round on Tuesday to finish with a three-round scorecard of six-under par.
The Duluth, Ga., native has competed in seven tournaments this season and has two top-five finishes and five top-10 performances.
Graduate student Brett McLamb shot a one-over par 73 on Tuesday and finished the tournament in a tie for 36th place.
Easton Paxton shot a 76 in the third round to finish in a tie for 48th place.
Freshman Carter Graf fired his best round of the tourney on Tuesday, shooting an even-par 72 to move up to a 53rd place finish.
Christian Salzer rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 57th place.
North Carolina won the tournament by 13 shots over Liberty. Wake Forest finished in third place one shot back of Liberty. The Pack closed in seventh place, but was just one shot back of sixth and two shots back of fifth.
The men's golf team returns to action Sunday, Feb. 22 when it begins play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, S.C.
