Shanklin Finishes Second in 3000M at JDL DMR Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ian Shanklin took home second-place honors in the men's 3000m race with an 8:16.16 mark on Saturday at the JDL DMR Invitational. His performance was a little over a second behind BYU's Garrett Marsing (8:14.60). Teammate Ben Verchick also found himself in the top 10, placing eighth with an 8:38.88 mark.
In the women's mile, Savannah Shaw and Dominique Clairmonte finished in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Shaw posted a time of 4:49.70, and Clairmonte followed closely after in 4:55.29.

The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship Feb. 27-29. The event will be held in South Bend, Ind. on Notre Dame's campus.
