RALEIGH, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday a list of 48 student-athletes who have been selected as 2020 Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship Award recipients.
For NC State, Elijah Moskowitz (men's cross country/track), Krissi Schuster (women's soccer) and Andreas Vazaios (men's swimming) earned the honor.
Moskowitz was a member of the 2018 All-Region Cross Country Team after securing a top-25 finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet. In track, he qualified for NCAA East Regionals in the 10,000-meter during back-to-back seasons. A two-time All-ACC Performer, Moskowitz has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team three times in his career and was a member of the 2017 USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team.
Schuster started 85 career matches as a defender and played a combined 7,154 minutes for the Wolfpack. She scored six goals and tallied 13 assists from the back line, and helped the women's soccer program to three Sweet Sixteen appearances in her four years. Schuster was a three-time All-ACC Academic Team and two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection while maintaining a cumulative 4.0 GPA in accounting.
Vazaios is a four-time NCAA Champion and 13-time All-American. His repeat national title in the 200-yard butterfly in 2019 marked just the second multi-title athlete in program history. The 2019 ACC Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, he collected six ACC titles during his three-year stint with the Pack. The Athens, Greece, native was also recognized as the 2019 ACC Men's Swimmer of the Year.
The Weaver-James-Corrigan and Jim and Pat Thacker postgraduate scholarships are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree following completion of their undergraduate requirements. Each recipient will receive $6,000 toward his or her graduate education. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.
The student-athletes will be honored at the annual Cone Health ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Luncheon presented by ESPN on Wednesday, April 8. The luncheon will be hosted by the Nat Greene Kiwanis Club at the Sheraton Four Seasons Guilford Ballroom in Greensboro, North Carolina.
