Bason Breaks 1000M School Record at Valentine Invitational

Valentine Invitational Results Tiger Paw Invite Results

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team concluded action at the Valentine Invitational and Tiger Paw Invite on Saturday. Tim Bason set a new program record in the men's 1000m at the Valentine Invitational, crossing the finish line in 2:24.71. His mark outran Philip Hall's 2:25.08 set earlier this season.

Distance: Bason was the first collegiate runner to cross the finish line in the 1000m and placed fifth overall. Ares Epps (2:25.62) and Kyle Durham (2:26.42) also placed in the top 15 in a field of over 100 runners.

Hall (8:07.95) and Joe Bistritz (8:12.29) posted ACC qualifying marks in the men's 3000m race.

Sprints: Cravont Charleston's 21.18 in the men's 200m dash at the Tiger Paw Invite ranks second in the ACC this season, outran the ACC qualifying standard, set a new PR and is a top-10 mark in program history.

Henry Young also posted a conference qualifying mark, clocking in at 21.57 for a new person-best mark.

Relays: The women's 4x400m relay clocked in at 4:05.09.
