Game marks the first-ever meeting between NC State and Coastal Carolina

RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball (3-0) will begin its final week of non-conference action on Sunday afternoon as it welcomes Coastal Carolina (1-0) to Raleigh. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Chanticleers is set for 2 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.
The game will be aired live on ACCNX, and radio broadcasters Patrick Kinas and Ashley Eli will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.
Due to health and safety recommendations and current state guidelines, home NC State women's basketball games are closed to the public.
A WIN ON SUNDAY WOULD...
• Be the 948th win in program history (947-471)
• Be head coach Wes Moore's 730th career win (729-231)
• Be Moore's 172nd win at NC State (171-62)
• Be NC State's 39th straight home victory over a non-conference opponent on Kay Yow Court
• Be the Pack's 10th straight 4-0 start to a season
NOTING THE WOLFPACK (3-0)
• Currently ranked eighth by the AP and sixth by USA Today
• Coming off of a huge 54-46 road win at top-ranked South Carolina
• In that game, the Pack closed the fourth quarter on an 11-2 run during which Raina Perez and Kayla Jones hit clutch three pointers and the team went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe in the last few minutes

• Chanticleers lost four of five starters from 2019-20, with Janae Camp returning as the lone starter from last season's squad
• Original season opener was canceled, but Coastal Carolina went on to beat South Carolina State, 88-56, in its first and so far only contest of 2020-21

In what was one of the most highly-anticipated matchups of non-conference collegiate women's basketball, NC State came away with the 54-56 victory over No. 1 South Carolina on the road.
The victory marked the Wolfpack's first over a top-ranked team since March 3, 2007. It was also just the third win over a top-ranked team in a total of 20 tries in program history.
The Pack handled the South Carolina crowd with poise as it took home a road win in the series for the first time since 2004-05. NC State handed the Gamecocks their first home loss since the end of the 2018-19 regular season and snapped what was previously a 29-game winning streak for South Carolina.
