RALEIGH – NC State women's soccer alumna Franziska Jaser has signed a contract with Werder Bremen in the Frauen Bundesliga, joining former Wolfpack standout Ricci Walkling (2016-19) at the top flight German club.
Jaser will be joining Werder Bremen from Kristianstads in Sweden.
"It's great for Jas to get back to Germany and play in the first division," said head coach Tim Santoro. "Selfishly, it's great to see Ricci and her together. It will be super easy now to continue to follow them both."
Jaser spent the 2014 season at NC State before signing a contract with FC Freiburg (Germany) in April 2015, then later with FC Basel (Switzerland) in 2016. A member of Germany's 2014 U20 World Cup Team, she joined the Pack prior to its fourth match of the season and started 17 straight as a midfielder. Of the 17 matches she played, Jaser played the entirety of 14 of them and recorded a team-high three assists.
