#4 NC State Set to Open Conference Slate at Boston College

Wolfpack looking to win fifth-straight ACC opener

RALEIGH – Atlantic Coast Conference competition is here, and the fourth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (5-0) will open league action on Sunday afternoon at Boston College (4-1, 0-1 ACC). Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Eagles is set for 2 p.m. from the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network, and radio broadcasters Patrick Kinas and Ashley Eli will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all women's basketball games at the Conte Forum in 2020-21 are being held without fans. Only essential game management personnel and credentialed media are permitted to attend.

2019-20 ACC REWIND
NC State capped off one of the best seasons in its 46-year history by winning the 2020 ACC Tournament on March 8. The title was the first for NC State in 29 years (since 1991) and the fifth in program history. The Wolfpack ended the championship game against Florida State with a 13-3 run to take home the 71-66 victory.
During ACC play in 2019-20:
• NC State won a program-best 14 ACC games, bettering its previous record of 13 ACC wins set during the 1984-85 campaign
• The Wolfpack went 8-1 in ACC road games and 6-3 at home
• The Pack finished second in the league following regular season play, marking its best ACC Tournament seed since 1990 when it was the top-seeded squad
• NC State led the conference in three-point field-goal percentage (.364), rebound margin (+6.3), defensive rebounds per game (28.7) and three pointers per game (8.2)
• Cunane was second in the conference in double-doubles (8), first in rebounding (9.6) and sixth in scoring (16.7) in league action
• Then-freshman Jakia Brown-Turner scored in double figures in 11 of 18 ACC games and averaged double figures (10.1 points per game) in league play

• Finished fourth in the ACC last season (its best finish since joining the conference) after being predicted to place 13th in 2019-20
• Head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee is reigning ACC Coach of the Year after leading her program to 11-7 record in conference action and advancing her team to the ACC Tournament semifinals
• Led by Preseason All-ACC selection Taylor Soule who is averaging 17.6 points and 7.6 rebounds and shooting 50 percent from the floor this season
• Ranked in the top three in the conference in steals per game (9.2) and turnovers forced (21.6)
• Dropped its season opener to Georgia Tech as it fell 86-68 to the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta

• Sunday marks the 27th meeting between NC State and Boston College. It is the second season in a row that the Wolfpack is opening conference play against the Eagles.

• The teams squared off twice last season, with the most recent meeting coming in the semifinal round of the 2020 ACC Tournament.
