Pack will visit #10 Pitt this weekend, first of three straight top-10 ACC foes
RALEIGH, N.C. – After starting its ACC slate with a dominating 28-9 home win over Virginia last weekend, the NC State wrestling team climbed one spot in this week's NWCA Coaches Poll and now sits fourth nationally behind a trio of Big Ten schools.
The #4 ranking is NC State's highest of the season, as the Wolfpack spent the last two polls at #5. The #4 national ranking is also the highest for NC State since the final poll of the 2016 season when the Pack finished at #2, a span of 60 NWCA Coaches Polls.
Dating back over the last five seasons, NC State has now been ranked in the top-10 of the NWCA Coaches Poll 69 straight times.
The Wolfpack at 11-0, its second-best start in school history, is one of just two remaining undefeated teams in the NCAA (Iowa – 8-0).
The ACC has four teams ranked in the top-10 this week, a first for the conference. Along with the Pack at #4, Virginia Tech is #7, followed by North Carolina at #8 and Pitt at #10. NC State will face those three squads each of the next three weekends, with a trip to #10 Pitt set for Saturday night.
