SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 6-2)
• Thursday's game marks the ninth overall meeting between NC State and Pittsburgh.
• NC State has won four meetings in a row against Pitt, and the Wolfpack is 3-0 when playing on the Panthers' home court.
• Pittsburgh has won just two games in the series between the squads, with its last victory over NC State coming in February of 2015.
• The teams last met on Jan. 10, 2019 in Raleigh, and NC State came away with the dominating 63-34 victory on its home court.
PACK TRACKS
• NC State fought off a tough shooting performance against Wake Forest by digging in on the defensive side of the ball and holding the Demon Deacons to just 16-of-63 (.254) from the field on Jan. 19. The Wolfpack limited Wake Forest to just 19 second-half points, including just eight in the fourth quarter.
• Nine NC State players saw five or more minutes of action in the team's victory over the Demon Deacons. Jakia Brown-Turner, who has started all 18 games in her rookie season with the Pack, played all 40 minutes for the first time in her career.
• Junior Kayla Jones posted her fourth double-double at NC State with a career-high 15 points and 11 rebounds against Wake Forest. All four of her career double-doubles have come during the 2019-20 campaign.
• Elissa Cunane notched her own double-double in NC State's win against Florida State last week, her 10th of the season. She scored 20 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and added a career-high five blocked shots. The performance maintained her conference lead in double-doubles posted on the season.
MOVING UP
The Wolfpack earned a season-high national ranking of No. 8 in the Jan. 20 release of the AP Top 25. NC State has now spent the last seven weeks inside the AP Top 10, with Monday's ranking marking the 157th overall week that the program has appeared in the national top 10. NC State joins Louisville (No. 5) and Florida State (No. 14) as the three ACC teams featured in this week's rankings.
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS ON THE ROAD
Now in season seven under Coach Moore, the Wolfpack has earned 44 true road wins, averaging 7.0 per completed season since the start of the 2013-14 campaign. In the prior eight seasons from 2005-06 to 2012-13, the Wolfpack earned 32 road wins (average of 4.0 per season).
PROWESS IN THE PAINT
Accompanying its strength in effectively shutting down the interior, the Pack has also displayed a tremendous ability to then score in the paint on the offensive end. Through 18 games, NC State is outscoring its opponents 588-362 (+228) in the category. The Wolfpack has been bested in that category on just three occasions this season.
