Kent Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

RALEIGH - Junior Lauren Kent has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Kent garnered the award after competing in all four events in the Wolfpack's quad-meet with Kentucky, North Carolina and Lindenwood Friday, Jan. 17. The junior posted a 39.050 all-around performance at the meet.

The Willow Springs, N.C. native was part of a three-way tie for second place on bars with a 9.825. She recorded a 9.700 on vault, a 9.800 on beam and a 9.725 on floor. Her scores on beam and bars were the highest scores posted by a member of the Wolfpack at the meet.

Kent and the Wolfpack return to action Saturday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. as the team hosts Towson in a dual meet in Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.
