NC State Set for Another Road Test at Notre Dame

RALEIGH – The ninth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (14-1, 3-1 ACC) continues road action this weekend as it plays at Notre Dame (6-10, 1-3 ACC) on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off from the Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Ind., is set for 4 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network.

• Notre Dame entered the year coming off of two-straight NCAA Championships berths, including a title in 2018. The Fighting Irish lost all five of their 2018-19 starters to the WNBA Draft ahead of the 2019-20 season.
• Ranked atop the conference in turnovers forced (18.5 per game) and third in steals per game (8.8)
• 322nd nationally and last in the ACC in rebound margin (-7.4)

SERIES HISTORY (Notre Dame leads 7-1)
• Sunday's game marks the ninth meeting between NC State and Notre Dame. The teams have played each other each year since 2013-14, the Fighting Irish's first season as part of the ACC.
• The Wolfpack has defeated the Fighting Irish just once in eight games played in the series. NC State upset second-ranked Notre Dame at home on Dec. 29, 2016, winning by a 70-62 score after never trailing in the outing.
• NC State has made the trip to South Bend twice and has never won inside the Purcell Pavilion.
• The squads last met on Feb. 18, 2019 inside Reynolds Coliseum. Notre Dame came away with the 95-72 victory in that matchup.
PACK TRACKS
• Aislinn Konig matched her career high in single-game three pointers with six against North Carolina. She became the first Wolfpack player to have six or more threes in a game since Kiara Leslie did so against No. 16 Syracuse last season.
• In that game at UNC, Konig was just two points off of her career high of 26 points, as she led all players on the floor with 24 points. She shot 8-of-11 (.727) from the field and 6-of-9 (.667) from behind the arc.
• Freshman Jakia Brown-Turner has scored in double figures in three of the first four ACC games of her Wolfpack career. The rookie averages 10.0 points and 3.3 assists per game against conference opponents.
• In addition to Brown-Turner, three other Wolfpack players are averaging double figures in conference play – Elissa Cunane (18.5), Konig (15.5) and Kayla Jones (10.0).
• NC State has knocked down 11+ threes on seven occasions this season, including three of the last five games and two games in a row. In its meeting with the Tar Heels, the Pack tied its season high with 12 baskets made from long range.
DIVERSE SCORING ATTACK
NC State has managed to put together a well-balanced variety of scoring options from the field. The Pack averages 73.9 points per game this season, with 31.9 of those coming inside the paint and 27.8 generated from distance.
WOODEN WATCH
Cunane is one of 25 players named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Watch List. The list features student-athletes who are considered to be front-runners for the sport's most prestigious honor that recognizes the Player of the Year. The Summerfield, N.C., native averages a double-double on the season with 16.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She currently stands among the best in the nation in multiple statistical categories. Cunane ranks ninth nationally in field-goal percentage (.650), 13th in double-doubles (8) and 20th in rebounds per game. Her field-goal percentage paces the ACC this season, and she also ranks second in the league in rebounding.
