#14 Women’s Soccer Opens Home Slate Thursday Against Iowa

RALEIGH – After kicking off the season with a three-game road swing, No. 14 NC State women's soccer (2-1-0) will open up its home slate Thursday when it welcomes Iowa (4-0-0) to Dail Soccer Stadium for the first-ever meeting between the programs.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Raleigh, and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.

LAST TIME OUT
The Pack wrapped up its road swing on Aug. 30 with a 1-0 victory at Monmouth to pick up its second consecutive win.
Krissi Schuster's goal in the 74th minute just inside the 18-yard box off of a long ball from Jenna Butler proved to be the difference. She came up clutch for the Wolfpack last year against Monmouth in Raleigh when she put away the golden goal in a 1-0 double overtime win.
STILL ON THE UP
NC State moved up again in the latest United Soccer Coaches and TopDrawerSoccer rankings. It jumped two more spots to 14th on United Soccer Coaches and four spots to 16th on TopDrawerSoccer.
UP NEXT
NC State will host Duquesne Sunday at Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
SCOUTING IOWA
Iowa, who finished 8-7-3 last year, is off to a 4-0-0 start in 2019 with its latest win being a 4-3 result vs. Illinois State on Sunday. Thursday will be the Hawkeyes' first road test of the year.
Natalie Winters leads the team with seven points (three goals, one assist), while Gianna Gourley, Devin Burns and Kaleigh Haus have also scored multiple goals. Winters, Burns and Riley Whitaker were all named to the BIG Preseason Honors List.
