Schrader Posts Perfect Weekend at Duke Bonk Invitational to Take Home Singles Title

CARY, N.C. – After going 4-0 in singles action over the weekend, Joseph Schrader of the NC State men's tennis team won the black draw singles title at the Duke Bonk Invitational on Sunday morning.

Schrader won all four of his matches in the round robin-style flight, making him champion of his draw. The Brevard, N.C., native defeated Liberty's Joseph Emerson 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 on Sunday afternoon to close out his perfect weekend.

Schrader handled the rest of his opponents on the weekend in straight sets. He opened tournament action with a 6-1, 3-0, ret. win over Sam Dively of Elon before adding a pair of victories over Gardner-Webb's Victor Putter (6-1, 6-1) and UNC-Charlotte's Cole Brainard (6-3, 6-4) on Saturday.

Robert Turzak, Collin Shick and Tristan Smith also returned to the court for action at the Duke Bonk Invitational this weekend. They were joined by freshman Robin Catry, who made his NC State tennis debut.
