RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State Softball fall schedule features nine games, including eight that will be played at Dail Softball Stadium.
"We're excited to jump into year two with this staff and team," said head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift. "With the addition of this year's 11 newcomers to a strong core of veteran returners, we are really excited to create our own path toward the 2020 season. I believe you have to have great people to do great things, and we certainly have that in these 21 student-athletes. Our fall schedule will give us solid competition, both internally and externally, that will help prepare us for the spring."
All fall games are exhibitions and will not count towards NC State's record during its competition season in the spring. Admission is free for all home games.
The fall season opens for the Wolfpack Sept. 28 with a game against Louisburg at 6:30 p.m. before continuing with a 1 p.m. matchup against Longwood on the 29th.
The only road match of the fall schedule for NC State will be Oct. 5 at Elon at 12 p.m. The Wolfpack return home the following day, Oct. 6., for a 1 p.m. game against rival North Carolina. NC State then hosts NC Central Oct.12 at 12 p.m. and East Carolina, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. The conclusion of the fall schedule comes with a doubleheader against Wingate on Oct. 20 beginning at 1 p.m.
2020 will be the second season for the Wolfpack under the helm of Patrick-Swift. In 2019, NC State compiled 31 wins, the most for the team in a single-season since 2015. The Wolfpack also advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, upsetting the No. 1 seed Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals.
