
Women’s Soccer Returns Home Sunday To Face Furman

RALEIGH – NC State women's soccer (3-3-0) is back in action Sunday when it welcomes Furman (5-2-0) to Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. between the Wolfpack and Paladins, and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the fourth time in program history that the teams have met, as NC State owns a 2-1-0 ledger in the all-time series.
This will be the third time in the series history that the Paladins have traveled to Raleigh, but the squads have not met since Sept. 22, 2000. The last time the programs met, Furman captured a 3-1 win at NC State.
ACC NETWORK
The Pack's match against Furman will be its first of four contests broadcast on the ACC Network, which launched on Aug. 22. Its matches at Duke (Sept. 22) and North Carolina (Sept. 26), as well as versus Virginia Tech at home (Oct. 13), will also appear on the linear network.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State traveled to Minnesota on Thursday evening and dropped a 1-0 decision.
In a scoreless first half, Tziarra King tried to put her team on the board as she took all five of the Pack's shots and put three on goal.
After a back-and-forth start to the second half, the Gophers broke the deadlock in the 59th minute when Athena Kuehn headed in a goal off a corner kick.
SCOUTING FURMAN
After a season-opening loss to UNCW, Furman picked up four consecutive wins before a 3-2 loss to Oregon. The Paladins picked up a 5-0 win over Presbyterian at home on Thursday in its last time out, with four of their goals coming in the first half.
Furman has five multi-goal scorers on its roster this year, led by Kyndal Anderson with four, while goalkeepers Sarah Rinker, Nora Sampson and Kellsey Weaver have all combined for three shutouts this season.
The Paladins were picked to finish third in the Southern Conference preseason standings, while Isabella Gutierrez and Caitlyn Reilly were featured on the preseason All-Southern Conference team.
UP NEXT
NC State will begin a four-game road swing when it travels to East Carolina Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Johnson Stadium in Greenville, N.C., and the match will be broadcast on ECUPirates.com.
