GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State women's basketball team will host local rival Duke on ESPN2's Big Monday inside Reynolds Coliseum on February 24, 2020, for the 15th annual Play4Kay Game, the Atlantic Coast Conference revealed Thursday evening in a televised special. This NC State home game was part of a select number of ACC women's basketball games that were announced during a special edition of All ACC programming on the new ACC Network.
Â
The Wolfpack has won five of the last six meetings with the Blue Devils and leads the series by a count of 45-36. NC State defeated Duke in Raleigh last season by a final score of 63-51 on Jan. 3, 2019. The Wolfpack and Blue Devils previously met in Raleigh for a Play4Kay game in 2015, with NC State defeating then-No. 10 Duke 72-59 on Feb. 22.
Â
Additional details were also released about NC State's previously announced 2019 B1G/ACC Challenge game in Raleigh. On Dec. 5, NC State will host Maryland at 7 pm in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Â
NC State concluded the 2018-19 season ranked ninth nationally in the final USA Today poll after advancing to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. The Wolfpack is ranked 15th in ESPN's recent Way-Too-Early Top 25 poll.
Â
What is Play4Kay?
Play4Kay at NC State is an annual event which inspired a national movement. Former NC State head coach Kay Yow began the tradition in 2006, when one of the Wolfpack's home games was dedicated towards raising awareness and money for the fight against women's cancers. Donations made to this cause go directly to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
