TORONTO, Ontario – Rising senior Aislinn Konig of the NC State women's basketball team has been called up by Canada Basketball to compete with the Canadian Senior Women's National Team in a five-game European exhibition tour in Belgium (June 14-16) and Great Britain (June 18-19), the organization announced this week.

Â
Of the 12 athletes on the roster, Konig is one of just two currently playing NCAA basketball. Nine of the athletes are current professionals and one competes at a Canadian preparatory academy.
Â
Konig is no stranger to Canadian National Team rosters, as she achieved a historic feat with the Canadian U19 National Team in July of 2017. The Wolfpack guard from Vancouver, British Columbia, helped her team win the bronze medal at the 2017 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup by defeating Japan 67-60 on July 30. The third-place finish was the highest ever for Canada at a FIBA U19 World Cup tournament.
Â
Throughout the seven games of the tournament, Konig averaged 30.1 minutes, 10.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per contest. She shot just shy of 40 percent from beyond the arc, and in a 74-70 win over Latvia on July 25, scored 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting from distance.
Â
During three seasons at NC State, Konig has appeared in 88 games (67 starts) and has averaged 31.2 minutes, 9.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game while hitting an impressive 214-of-583 (.367) three-point attempts. During her sophomore and junior seasons, she set and then reset new single-season program records of 91 and 93 made 3FG, respectively.
