
Wolfpack Closes Out Season With Strong Score At NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. – NC State women's golf ended its 2018-19 campaign on a strong note, turning in a four-over par 292 on Wednesday to close out NCAA Regional play at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
The Wolfpack finished in a tie for ninth out of 18 teams with a 17-over par 881 alongside Mississippi State. Its three-round total is the second-lowest score shot in program history at an NCAA Regional.
Top-seeded Texas won the regional with a nine-under 855, while No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 3 Florida finished in tie for second with an 864 (E). No. 8 Purdue, No. 4 Arizona State and No. 9 Ole Miss additionally advanced to the NCAA Championship in the team category.
Oklahoma's Kaitlin Milligan (1st place, eight-under 208) as well as Memphis' Michaela Fletcher T3rd, five-under 211) and Virginia Tech's Amanda Hollandsworth (T5th, three-under 213) advanced as individuals.
Monika Hartl fired her lowest round of the week on Wednesday, a two-under 70, while Laura closed out her career with a three-over 75 to both finish in a tie for 19th individually. Kowohl has earned a top 25 individual finish in every NCAA Regional she has competed in, as it was her ninth career top 20 showing and was Hartl's fourth.
India Clyburn turned in another one-over par 73 to finish T31st out of 96 players, while Lea Klimentova bounced back with a two-over 74 after a tough second round to finish 66th.
Naomi Ko closed out play with a nine-over 81 to settle in a tie for 90th.
Clyburn, Ko and Kowohl all eclipsed 100 career rounds this year, becoming the first class in program history to have three players accomplish the feat. They are also the first class to have three players finish top-10 all-time in career scoring.
