Women’s Golf In Second After Opening Round Of NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. – NC State women's golf fired a three-under par 285 on Monday in the first round of the NCAA Norman Regional to sit one stroke out of first place among 18 teams at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
The Wolfpack's opening round marks the second-lowest round in program history at an NCAA Regional, as No. 3 seed Florida leads the field with a four-under 284. Four other teams are in a tie for third with a one-under par 287.
Three Pack individuals are in the top 25 of the player standings, led by senior Laura Kowohl who is in a four-way tie for second after matching her career low 69 (-3) on Monday. Her round is the second lowest 18-hole score shot by an NC State individual at a regional championship.
Lea Klimentova and Monika Hartl, who are competing in their first-ever NCAA Regional, are T13th and T24th, respectively, in the individual standings. Klimentova shot a one-under 71 while Hartl carded an even-par 72.
India Clyburn turned in a one-over 73 to contribute to the Pack's strong start, as she is in a tie for 34th out of 96 players.
Additionally, Naomi Ko shot a nine-over 81 and is T88th after the opening round.
NC State will continue NCAA Regional play Tuesday when it tees off hole one between 10:20 and 11 a.m. ET with Florida and top-seeded Texas.
