RALEIGH – No. 13 NC State baseball is set to open postseason play Thursday evening at the 2019 ACC Baseball Championship, held at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, home of the Durham Bulls, Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, in Durham, N.C.
The Wolfpack, who is the No. 3 seed and top-seeded team in Pool C, will face 10th-seeded Wake Forest Thursday and No. 6 seed Florida State Friday, with both games slated for a 7 p.m. first pitch. Both games will be broadcast on Regional Sports Networks (RSN) and the ACC Network Extra (subject to blackout in TV coverage areas), and there will be a free audio stream on WKNC 88.1 FM.
NC State heads into the tournament with a 41-15 overall record, while Florida State is 35-21 and Wake Forest is 31-25. The Seminoles and Demon Deacons met on Tuesday in the tournament, and Wake won, 7-4.
Last Time Out
NC State closed out its regular season last weekend with a series win at in-state rival No. 13 UNC-Chapel Hill. The Pack dropped a tough series opener, 5-3, then responded with a pair of wins (11-2 and 11-0) to clinch its first series in Chapel Hill since May 2004.
