RALEIGH, N.C. – Wolfpack diver Madeline Kline is headed to Indianapolis this week to compete at the 2019 USA Diving Senior National Championships, which will be held May 16-26 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI. Kline is set to see action in both one-meter and platform competition at the national meet.
The Senior National Championships serve as a selection event for divers to qualify for the 2019 Pan American Games, the 2019 World Championships and select Grand Prix competitions. Kline will also be looking to secure an invite to compete at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will also be held in Indianapolis next summer.
Kline enters the meet coming off of a solid junior campaign that was highlighted by her repeating as ACC champion on platform in February. Kline successfully defended her title in the event as she smashed her personal best with a score of 271.60 for first place. The Damascus, Maryland native was honored as ACC Women's Diver of the Week twice during the 2018-19 regular season, once after picking up a win on platform at the Georgia Diving Invitational and once after securing a pair of top-two finishes on the one and three-meter boards in the Pack's dual meet against UNC-Chapel Hill.
A full schedule of Senior Nationals can be found here.
