GAME PROMOTIONS:
SERIES HISTORY:
Wednesday's contest will be the 21st time that NC State and East Carolina face off against each other. The Pack comes into the matchup leading the overall series between the two programs by a 12-8 count.
The teams last met on April 15, 2018 at East Carolina, and the Pirates picked up the 2-1 win in that game last season.
LAST TIME OUT:
NC State fell in its weekend series to Syracuse as the Orange took the series by a 2-1 score.
The teams split the series-opening doubleheader on Saturday. The Pack picked up a win in the second game of the series after building up an early five-run lead during the first two innings. Sydney Nester pitched her seventh complete game of the season and added the 11th win of her freshman campaign as the Pack won game two by a 7-2 score.
Syracuse went on to win in Sunday's rubber match to secure the series win.
HOME RUN MINDSET:
After hitting four home runs over the weekend, the Pack moved into sole possession of eighth in program history in single-season home runs with a total of 44 on the 2019 season.
Sam Russ hit a pair of homers on the weekend for her fourth and fifth times going yard on the season. She led off an inning with a home run twice during the Pack's games last week as she did so in the fourth inning at UNCG and in the first inning of NC State's series finale against Syracuse.
Logan Morris also went yard in the bottom of the first on Sunday, and Jessica Moore added her fourth home run of the season, a solo shot in the Pack's Saturday win over Syracuse.
Russ and Morris's first-inning home runs on Sunday marked the fourth time during the 2019 campaign that two Wolfpack batters have hit home runs in the same frame.
