
No. 22 NC State Closes Regular Season with 4-1 Senior Day Win Over No. 25 Miami

NC State clinches double bye in the ACC Championships
RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 22 NC State men's tennis team wrapped up its regular-season slate by clinching a double bye in the upcoming 2019 ACC Championships as it defeated 25th-ranked Miami, 4-1, Friday evening at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
The Wolfpack improves its record on the season to 17-9 (8-4 ACC), once again improving its program-best number of single-season conference wins. Miami's record falls to 16-8 (7-4 ACC).
The win also secured NC State a top-four seed in the ACC Championships. The team will kick off action at the tournament in Friday's quarterfinal round and now awaits the release of the full tournament bracket.
NC State came out swinging in doubles play, with the No. 44 duo of Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden securing a quick 6-0 victory over Stephen Madonia and Dane Dunlap.
Tadas Babelis and Yannai Barkai rounded out doubles action, defeating Franco Aubone and Tatsuki Shimamoto in a 6-3 decision.
In singles play, Igor Saveljic got things started for the Wolfpack by cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Dane Dunlap.
23rd-ranked Galarneau was the next member of the Pack with a win as he defeated No. 55 Adria Soriano-Barrera 6-2, 6-3.
Miami got on the board with a win on court four as No. 81 Bojan Jankulovski defeated Yannai Barkai 6-0, 6-3.
Babelis rounded out the scoring for the day, clinching the match for the Pack with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Franco Aubone.

NC State will await results from around the league on the weekend before the 2019 ACC Championships draw is released. The Pack is set to head to Cary, N.C. next week for the conference tournament, which runs April 17-21 at the Cary Tennis Park.
