Softball Set For Midweek Games Tuesday And Wednesday

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team (19-15) is set for midweek games Tuesday and Wednesday. The Wolfpack will host Winthrop (15-16) Tuesday at Dail Stadium, then travel to UNCG (20-12) Wednesday. The games are slated for a 6 and 5 p.m. start, respectively, as Tuesday's game will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra and Wednesday's contest at the UNCG Softball Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., will be on ESPN+ ($).

Series History
Tuesday will be the seventh meeting between the Pack and Eagles, as NC State leads the all-time series, 5-1. The teams last met on Feb. 19, 2011, at the Georgia Softball Classic, and the Pack won 8-0.
Wednesday will be the 20th all-time meeting for the Pack and Spartans, and NC State leads the series, 14-5. Last year, UNCG traveled to Raleigh for a nonconference series on April 22-23, and won 2-1.
Last Time Out
NC State traveled to Boston College last weekend and clinched its first ACC series in nearly two years. Its last conference series win was April 7-9, 2017, at Georgia Tech.
The Wolfpack's 6-3 win on Saturday to even the series was the program's first ACC win since April 14, 2018 (a 10-1 win at UNC-CH).
Randi Farricker and Brigette Nordberg each hit a home run on the weekend to bring the team's total to 39 in just 34 games. That number currently ranks ninth all-time in the program record books.
Scouting Winthrop
The Eagles are coming off of a series win last weekend at home over Gardner-Webb, concluding the weekend with a 5-0 win to take the series.
Morgan Lowers leads the team offensively in batting average with a .355 clip, while Ashley Westbrooks leads the squad in homers (4) and RBI (24).
Winthrop is batting .269 as a team, while its pitching staff has compiled a 4.07 ERA. Madyson Watson paces the staff with a 2.67 ERA with seven wins in her 14 starts.
Scouting UNCG
UNCG has won eight of its last 10 games, and is coming off of a series sweep at Chattanooga.
Six players are batting over .300, led by Marisa Sholtes (.355). The Spartans are batting .281 as a team, averaging 7.56 hits and 4.65 runs per game.
In the circle, Kylie Bouplon paces the pitching staff with a 2.43 ERA in 63 innings pitched, while Stephanie Bryden has tossed the most innings (114.0) and leads the team with 22 appearances.
