NC State Gets First Victory over Miami in Program History
RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 12 NC State women's tennis team defeated the 25th-ranked Miami Hurricanes, 6-1, in a hard-fought victory Friday afternoon at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The match marked the Pack's first victory over the Hurricanes in program history.
The Wolfpack improves to 16-3 (6-1) on the season, including a 7-2 record against ranked opponents, while the Hurricanes fall to 11-4 (4-3). In the last three ranked matchups for the Pack, the squad has outscored opponents 19-2.

No. 31 Anna Rogers put an exclamation point on the Pack's victory, defeating No. 2 Estela Perez-Somaribba in three sets.

NC State made a strong showing in doubles play with wins on courts one and three to take a 1-0 lead over Miami. The ninth-ranked duo of Rogers and Alana Smith was the first Wolfpack doubles team to victory, defeating 34th-ranked Daniella Rodan and Daevenia Achong, 6-3. Claudia Wiktorin and Adriana Reami went on to take their match against Lucia Marzal and Yuna Ito in a 7-5 decision.
In singles play, the Wolfpack dropped four first sets but rallied to win all six second sets. No. 116 Reami was the first to victory, defeating Yuna Ito 6-1, 6-4.
Amanda Rebol came from behind in her first set against Ana Madcur to force and win a tiebreaker before going on to win 7-6 (3), 6-3. She was quickly followed with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win by Bianca Moldovan over Marzal.
No. 70 Smith dropped her first set to Daevenia Achong but surged back to a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) victory.
On court one, No. 31 Rogers engaged in a tough battle with No. 2 Estela Perez-Somaribba. After losing the first set, Rogers came back to defeat Perez-Somaribba 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3. It is the first dual loss for Perez-Somaribba in almost a year, as her last regular season dual loss came on March 23, 2018. The win marked Rogers' 12th ranked singles victory of the season and her sixth-straight victory.
