NC State Picks Up 4-0 Road Win at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 30 NC State men's tennis team cruised past Boston College, 4-0, to earn a victory in its first ACC road match of the season Friday evening.
With the win, the Wolfpack improves to 12-7 (3-2 ACC), while the Eagles fall to 4-9 (0-6 ACC).
The Pack opened the match by claiming the doubles point for the fourth consecutive time as it picked up wins on courts two and three.
Both Wolfpack pairs took advantage of early breaks as Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic defeated Boston College's Max Palmer and Sean Mullins 6-3, and Tadas Babelis and Georgiy Malyshev beat the Eagles duo of Chris Grasel and Markus Nordby 6-4.
Playing on the four indoor courts at Boston College Rec Complex, NC State took the first sets in all four of the first matches on and secured straight-sets wins on three courts to take home the team victory.
Igor cruised past Grasel for the first singles win of the outing as he picked up the 7-6, 6-0 win on court two.
Junior Alexis Galarneau, who is ranked No. 18 in the nation in singles, added a win on court one as he defeated Derek Austin 6-4, 6-2, and Yannai Barkai clinched for the Pack with his 6-3, 7-6 win over Max Mendelsohn on court four.
UP NEXT:
The Pack will wrap up its road trip on Sunday as it travels to South Bend, Ind. to take on 14th-ranked Notre Dame. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
