
Rifle Sends Four to Winter Airgun Championships

RALEIGH - Four members of the NC State rifle team are set to travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. Dec. 6-8 to compete in the Winter Airgun Championships. Additionally, the match serves as the first part of the 2020 Olympic Trials to select Team USA's representatives for the 2020 Olympics.
Sophomore Emily Fisher will be joined by freshmen Addy Burrow, John Peterson and Makenzie Sheffield at the match. It will be Fisher's second appearance at the Winter Airgun Championships as she also competed in 2018.
At the match, competitors who finish in the top three in the Open and Junior categories receive awards at the end of each day.
The second part of the Olympic trials will take place in Feb. 2020 with the top two competitors for men and women earning places on the US Olympic team.
