RALEIGH – Seniors Tziarra King and Krissi Schuster of the NC State women's soccer team have been named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer First Team, as recently released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The team recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Both players own a cumulative 4.00 grade-point average, as King, who hails from Sicklerville, N.J., is a nutrition science major and Schuster, a Polling, Germany native, is an accounting major. This is the second consecutive year the pair has been recognized for their success on the field and in the classroom.
King, the team's leader in goals (13) and points (32), has started 18 matches this season, while Schuster has earned 19 starts and tallied three goals and two assists. Both collected All-ACC honors earlier this week.
Nominees must be a starter or important reserve and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games, as well as hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30. First-Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced in early December.
NC State continues ACC Championship action Friday when it faces top-seeded North Carolina in the semifinal round at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
