Volleyball Looks to Rebound Against Virginia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. – Following a five-set battle on Wednesday, the NC State volleyball team looks to rebound Friday evening as they host Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack will play its second-straight match in Reynolds Coliseum as they look to pick up their first ACC win of the season. The match will be broadcast on ACCNX.

NC State (5-10, 0-3 ACC) was led by a trio of players in double-digit kills Wednesday against North Carolina. Melissa Evans totaled 15 kills followed by 14 a piece from Jessica Kemp and Jade Parchment. The 14 were a career-high for Kemp, in addition to her personal-best .667 hitting percentage. Grace Irvin and Nina Sharpton also tallied career-highs with 28 digs and 50 assists, respectively.

The Wolfpack rank second in the ACC with 15.15 digs per set and have out-dug its opponents in the last four-straight matches.

SERIES HISTORY
Virginia Tech holds a solid 21-14 lead in the series, however, NC State has won the last four-straight against the Hokies dating back to 2015. All four of the last meetings between the two programs have been either three or four sets. The last five set match in the series was Nov. 17, 2012, where the Pack came out on top.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
Virginia Tech (7-8, 0-2 ACC) is also looking for its first conference win, dropping its opening weekend to Virginia and No. 4 Pitt. The Hokies have been led through its first 14 games of the season by freshman Logan Mosley in the libero position. Prior to the Pitt match, Mosley ranked second in the conference behind NC State's Kaylee Frazier with 4.64 digs per set. She also holds the single-match ACC best this season with a 39 dig performance against Davidson, which also ranks seventh in the NCAA.

Three Virginia Tech players are averaging at least 2.00 kills per set, led by Tessa Wyner's 2.98.

Friday serves as the beginning of the Pack's Alumni Weekend, with several alumni in attendance who will be honored during the match.

The match is also Camper Reunion Day, as all summer campers are welcomed back into Reynolds Coliseum. Post-match autographs will take place on the upper concourse following the conclusion of the match.
