#15 NC State Set for Match Versus #5 Navy

RALEIGH -Â Action continues for the undefeated NC State rifle team on Saturday, Oct. 26 as the No. 15 Wolfpack travels to Charleston, S.C. to take on fifth-ranked Navy.
NC State enters the match with wins over No. 23 VMI and No. 17 North Georgia this season. The Midshipmen hold a 3-2 record, with their two losses coming to now-No. 2 and reigning national champions TCU and No. 13 Akron.
The Wolfpack is coming off a home victory on Oct. 20, defeating North Georgia 4640-4565 in Reynolds Coliseum. The team set a new season-high team score, and several members also recorded individual career-highs throughout the competition. Freshmen Makenzie Sheffield and Addy Burrow set new career-high marks in both smallbore and air rifle while sophomore Emily Fisher notched a career-high in air rifle. Fisher also won all three events for the second consecutive meet.
In prior meetings between the Wolfpack and Midshipmen, Navy holds a slight advantage with four wins to NC State's two. The teams last met in Jan. 2019 with Navy edging the Wolfpack with a final score of 4644-4625.
Following this weekend, the Pack with return to competition Nov. 9 facing off at No. 10 Memphis.
